Theo Baker is graduating from Stanford this spring with something most seniors don’t have: a book deal, a George Polk Award that he received for his investigative reporting as a student journalist, and a front-row account of one of the most romanticized institutions in the world. His forthcoming How to Rule the World: An Education in Power at Stanford University was excerpted Friday in The Atlantic and based on that alone, I can’t wait to see the rest. The only question worth asking is the same one Baker himself might be too close to answer, which is: Can a book…

Samsung has announced a new feature for Samsung Wallet today. It’s called Trips and it “consolidates travel plans”, “offering a single access point for all travel details – eliminating the need to juggle multiple apps and confirmations”, according to the Korean company. The new section comes with a Trip timeline, which brings all travel-related plans together in a single view, “adding structure to busy itineraries and providing a smoother journey from start to finish”. When you add eligible items to Samsung Wallet, Trips will group them together based on time and location. Trips supports bookings for hotels, flight itineraries, car…

Amazon’s podcasting business has transformed over the past six months, according to The New York Times. Back in August 2025, the company reportedly eliminated more than 100 jobs from its podcast studio Wondery. At the time, Amazon insisted it was not shutting Wondery down, and that appears to be technically true — it still uses the Wondery brand. But the NYT said Amazon “took a sledgehammer” to the studio. Audio-only podcasts now operate under Audible, while a new department called Creator Services works with on-camera celebrities like Dax Sheperd, Keke Palmer, and Jason and Travis Kelce. For example, the company…

Let’s start with YouTube TV first – the company’s live broadcast TV offering exclusive to the US. Users might know that the platform already has a Multiview feature that allows viewing two, three or even four channels all at once. Why? Well, besides brain-rot optimization, there are actually some practical use cases, like during a busy sports season when you want to keep an eye on multiple matches at once. Google knew that was the typical case and originally rolled out Multiview through “suggested” Multiview setups that the platform curated automatically for the user. Those are still there, but now…

I constantly use dictation apps such as Wispr Flow, Willow, or Typeless to reply to messages and emails on both my Mac and my phone. But to do so, I have to use my phone’s mic or AirPods to dictate my messages, and they often don’t pick up what I am saying. That’s why when Notta-owned SpeakOn pitched me to test a dedicated device for dictation, I was intrigued by its potential. Unfortunately, I had mixed experiences with the product because of its form factor and platform limitations. Still, I think there is space for dictation devices like this in…

We still don’t know much about how the situation was handled or whether or not it was even amicably resolved, but Reuters reports that on April 23 and April 24, during the night shift from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., many workers in the Samsung factory complex in Pyeongtaek, south of Seoul, skipped work in order to protest. For reference, like pretty much every foundry out there, this facility works 24/7 on three shifts. Details, as we said, are scarce, but according to the workers’ union, the attending workers demanded higher wages. While we don’t know whether those demands were…
