Big Tech companies and upcoming startups want to use generative AI to build software and hardware for kids. A lot of those experiences are limited to text or voice, and kids might not find that captivating. Three former Google employees want to get over that hurdle with their generative AI-powered interactive app, Sparkli. Sparkli was founded last year by Lax Poojary, Lucie Marchand, and Myn Kang. As parents, Poojary and Kang were not able to satisfy their children’s curiosity or give engaging answers to their questions. “Kids, by definition, are very curious, and my son would ask me questions about…
The iQOO 15 Ultra will launch in China next month, and images iQOO shared recently revealed its design and color options. These images also showed the iQOO 15 Ultra’s right frame with touch-sensitive shoulder triggers, which we now know will have haptic feedback. This revelation comes through a Weibo post by iQOO’s product manager, who also said that the iQOO 15 Ultra’s touch-sensitive shoulder triggers will have a 600Hz sampling rate and rely on two independent control chips to minimize latency. Additionally, the triggers will be sweat-resistant, and iQOO has used an “anti-sweat” algorithm to offer the best possible experience…
Food carts are a staple of New York City dining, dispensing everything from dosa and doner kebabs to dogs and dim sum in short order. But no matter how enticing the aroma of a cart’s food, the smelly gas generators that keep the lights on threaten to put customers off their meals. Cart owners and customers may not have to suck on fumes much longer. A Brooklyn-based startup is testing the use of its e-bike batteries to power food carts, starting with La Chona Mexican on the corner of 30th and Broadway in Manhattan. “This really started out as a…

Apple’s iPhone is gaining ground fast in India, shipping about 14 million units in 2025, based on market data shared exclusively with TechCrunch. Yet the country’s overall smartphone market stayed largely flat at around 152–153 million devices. That means that across the full-year of 2025, Apple’s market share of shipments rose to a record 9%. This is up from 7% in 2024, Counterpoint Research data shows, making it the iPhone’s strongest year yet in the world’s second-largest smartphone market by volume. The gains were driven by the iPhone’s product portfolio, growing aspirational demand and wider availability across sales channels, Counterpoint…
vivo is set to unveil the X200T in India on January 27, and, if rumors are to be believed, the brand will introduce the V70 and V70 Elite there next month. According to the source, the V70 will be available in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite will be available in Passion Red, Sand Beige, and Black. The render of the V70 Elite, included below, shows the smartphone in black. It has a flat screen,…
The NexPhone is a rugged device powered by a Qualcomm QCM64490 chip with a reportedly long support road map (through 2036), plus 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 6.58-inch, 120-Hz screen refresh rate. There’s a 64-MP camera, wireless charging, and even 5G support. Naturally, this isn’t going to compete with the latest Samsungs and iPhones on the hardware front, but those phones don’t let you boot three different operating systems. Nex Computers thinks people who don’t want to give up their flagship handset may enjoy having it as a secondary or backup phone for work.It costs…
Harvey, the high-flying legal AI startup, has acquired Hexus — a two-year-old startup that builds tools for creating product demos, videos, and guides — as the company continues its aggressive expansion amid fierce competition in the legal tech market. Hexus founder and CEO Sakshi Pratap, who previously held engineering roles at Walmart, Oracle, and Google, tells TechCrunch that her San Francisco-based team has already joined Harvey, while the startup’s India-based engineers will come onboard once Harvey establishes a Bangalore office. Pratap adds that she will lead an engineering team focused on accelerating Harvey’s offerings for in-house legal departments. “What we’re…
iQOO will launch the iQOO 15R in India soon. The brand gave us a glimpse of 15R’s design but hasn’t divulged any specs yet. However, thanks to Geekbench, we know what chipset the iQOO 15R will have under the hood. The iQOO 15R, having model code I2508, is listed on the Geekbench database with an octa-core CPU with two cores clocked at 3.8GHz and six cores clocked at 3.32GHz.
