Microsoft has officially announced that it’s started to roll out Xbox Mode to Windows 11 “in select markets”. It will be available on desktops, laptops, and tablets, and it promises to bring “a console-inspired Xbox experience to more players than ever”. Xbox Mode makes it easier to jump into your games, with a controller-optimized full screen experience “that is built for play”. Xbox Mode’s “streamlined interface” puts your library and recently played titles within easy reach, and it also minimizes background distractions. It lets you browse and launch games with your controller and you can access an aggregated game library,…
In an Instagram video posted on April 1, lifestyle influencer Melissa Strahle poses outdoors before an American flag as soft instrumental music plays. “AI lets me focus on what matters most,” she tells her 1.4 million followers. “We need to invest in American-made AI to ensure America leads the way in innovation and job creation.”Strahle labeled the post an advertisement, but she didn’t disclose what organization had paid for it. It turns out the funding came from Build American AI, a dark-money group tied to Leading the Future, a $100 million super PAC supported by, and in some cases directly…
Musely, a direct-to-consumer telemedicine platform, has secured over $360 million in non-dilutive capital from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund (CVF). The company specializes in compounded treatments for skin, hair, and menopause care. Musely co-founder and CEO Jack Jia told TechCrunch that when CVF investors reached out to him last year, he wasn’t looking to raise capital. That’s because Musely, which was founded in 2014 as a wellness community before pivoting to prescription skincare in 2019, has been cash flow positive for years, he said. Jia didn’t want to reduce his ownership in the company by selling off a chunk of…
Next year the original iPhone turns 20 – or rather, it’s the 20th anniversary of its launch, as we doubt any units are still around. Apple has long been rumored to be planning something special to mark the occasion, and a few days ago a report talked about a 20th anniversary iPhone coming with a quad-curved screen. As it turns out, that won’t be a special anniversary iPhone model – instead, that rumor was actually talking about a redesign coming to the Pro series. So the iPhone Pro and Pro Max released in 2027 will have that quad-curved screen design,…
“I was a fool who provided them free funding to create a startup,” Musk told the jury. He said when he cofounded OpenAI in 2015 with Altman and Brockman, he was donating to a nonprofit developing AI for the benefit of humanity, not to make the executives rich. “I gave them $38 million of essentially free funding, which they then used to create what would become an $800 billion company,” he said. Musk is asking the court to remove Altman and Brockman from their roles and to unwind the restructuring that allowed OpenAI to operate a for-profit subsidiary. The outcome…
Amjad Masad has been building Replit for a decade, but the last 18 months have been something else entirely. The AI coding assistant company went from $2.8 million in revenue in all of 2024 to tracking toward what Masad describes as a billion-dollar annual run rate. At TechCrunch’s sold-out StrictlyVC event in San Francisco on Thursday night, we covered a lot of ground in a short time, beginning with the question everyone in the industry is asking right now: in a world where rival Cursor is reportedly in talks to be acquired by SpaceX for $60 billion, is Replit also…

At the beginning of every month, AnTuTu publishes charts showing us which devices had the best average score the previous month. So now these are available for April. Keep in mind that these are averages, not high scores, and that only benchmarks completed in China count. Without further ado, let’s start with the flagship realm, where the iQOO 15 Ultra dominates, followed by the iQOO 15 and the RedMagic 11 Pro+. As you can see, the Realme GT 8 Pro was next, followed by the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, the Honor Magic8 Pro, the Honor…
