Google is finally going to open its first physical store outside of the US “this summer”. The company has announced that the store will be opening in Omotesando, Tokyo, Japan, specifically on the first floor of Omokado in Tokyu Plaza.
The store will sell Pixel devices, Nest products, Fitbit devices, as well as accessories, and will also be offering “the latest AI experiences”, whatever that means. Additionally, the store will serve as a pick-up point for orders made from Google’s online store in Japan.
Dedicated staff will be available to help with troubleshooting Google products. On-site Pixel repairs will also be offered, as well as initial setup help.
Japan is important to Google because it was where it first established an overseas office outside of the US. The company is very thankful to its Japanese customers who have supported it for so many years. This store appears to be the first of many more to come, in other countries too.
