Apple Intelligence is getting enhanced in iOS 27, which will be unveiled this June at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, and will be released in September when the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launch.
Four new features coming to Apple Intelligence have been discovered in “backend code”, and shared today. First, Visual Intelligence will get the ability to scan food nutrition labels to get more information, and this could integrate with the Health app.
Another new Visual Intelligence feature will offer to add printed phone numbers and/or addresses to your Contacts. Visual Intelligence already does something similar for adding stuff to your Calendar, so the expansion to Contacts seems natural.
Next up, Apple Wallet will get the ability to generate digital passes from scans of event tickets, gym membership cards, those sorts of things. This feature already exists in Google Wallet on Android, so Apple adding it too makes a lot of sense.
Finally, Safari will use AI to automatically name tab groups for you based on the contents of the tabs within each group. This is definitely not a huge feature, but one that might prove to be extremely useful to some.
