Lava launched the Lava Shark 4G last March, and followed it up with the Shark 5G in May. Today, the Indian handset maker announced the Lava Shark 2, which is a 5G smartphone and is powered by the Unisoc T8200 SoC.
The Lava Shark 2 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 16 out of the box, without ads and bloatware, and comes with the promise of one Android OS upgrade and security updates for two years.
The Lava Shark 2 is built around a 6.75″ 120Hz HD+ LCD with a notch for the 5MP selfie camera. The primary camera on the rear uses a 13MP sensor. Keeping the lights on for the Shark 2 is a 6,000 mAh battery with 18W charging support. However, the power adapter that comes bundled with the smartphone only supports 10W charging.

Other highlights of the Lava Shark 2 include a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IP64 rating, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Lava Shark 2 has two color options – Sonar Gold and Arya Blue. It’s priced at INR11,999 and will be sold in India starting June 10 through offline retailers. Lava is offering the smartphone with its “Free Service @ Home” to provide better after-sales support to customers.
