The Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr Shadric Namalomba, has launched the 2026 Huawei Malawi Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training programme in Lilongwe.
The initiative, organised by Huawei Technologies, is designed to equip young people in Malawi with essential digital and technological skills. It also seeks to support ICT students in developing innovative solutions that can address local and national development challenges through technology.
As part of the launch event, the Minister also presented awards to outstanding students from various universities who have demonstrated excellence in ICT innovation. The recognition highlighted the growing role of young talent in driving Malawi’s digital transformation agenda.
The programme reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen digital skills development in the country and to prepare a new generation of innovators capable of contributing to Malawi’s technology-driven economic growth.
