If you use OneDrive to sync with your content in Samsung Gallery, then you might want to start looking for a new way to do so. Microsoft recently confirmed that it’s ending the direct integration between Samsung Gallery and OneDrive, which takes effect on September 30, 2026.
As such, Samsung Gallery will no longer sync directly with OneDrive, and new users will not be able to link the two applications together; any photos and videos currently stored in OneDrive will disappear from the Samsung Gallery app entirely as well. Microsoft clarifies though that these files will not be deleted or modified, and users can still securely access all existing backups through the standalone OneDrive app or by visiting onedrive.com.
If you need to continue using Microsoft’s services to back up new photos and videos after the September deadline, Samsung device users must transition to OneDrive’s own feature, which of course will require the OneDrive app, logging into a Microsoft account, and navigating to the account profile in the top left corner. From there, users must select “Camera backup,” turn the feature on, and grant the app permission to access the device’s media.
