Auto giant Volvo recently announced that it’s rolling out a new entertainment-focused software update to more than two million vehicles worldwide, which finally brings native support for Apple Music. The update will also come standard on the newly-launched Volvo EX60, and Volvo is offering eligible new listeners up to three months of Apple Music for free.
The will allow Volvo owners to instantly access Apple Music’s catalog of over 100 million songs, curated playlists, and live radio directly through the vehicle’s touchscreen or via voice commands. Users can sign in using their existing Apple account, while new subscribers can create an account and likewise transfer their existing music libraries from other platforms. Additionally, owners of the Volvo EX60, EX90, and ES90 will get access to Apple Music Spatial Audio. Alwin Bakkenes, head of global software engineering at Volvo Cars comments:
Many of our customers use Apple Music on their phones or in their homes today. By bringing Apple Music directly into our cars, we’re making them an extraordinary place to experience music… You’ll feel as if you’re right in the middle of a concert hall or an arena during your favourite live performance or immersed in the latest music in Spatial Audio exactly as the artist intended – a truly emotional listening experience.
