It goes without saying that Spotify’s approach to giving users a highlight reel of their year-long activities has been pretty popular, and we’ve seen more and more content providers take up a similar approach. Take for example Google Photos, which once again brings back its Recap, an end-of-year feature that made its debut back in 2024.
This time around though, Google has added some new tricks to make Google Photos Recap a bit more interactive and social. In addition to graphics highlights for photos and videos, users will also be able to view their stats such as top people and total photo count, as well as a selfie count. For folks in the U.S. with Gemini features enabled, Recap will also showcase hobbies and top highlights from 2025.
