Meta has paused all its work with the data contracting firm Mercor while it investigates a major security breach that impacted the startup, two sources confirmed to WIRED. The pause is indefinite, the sources said. Other major AI labs are also reevaluating their work with Mercor as they assess the scope of the incident, according to people familiar with the matter.Mercor is one of a few firms that OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI labs rely on to generate training data for their models. Fizz, an anonymous social app that started on college campuses, is going global in more ways than one. Its Global Fizz feed is enabling the app to grow beyond college communities and cater to a broader user base, and the app has made a mark with its first overseas launch in Saudi Arabia.  When Fizz quietly debuted in Saudi Arabia in the middle of March, founder and CEO Teddy Solomon wasn’t expecting the app to catch on like it did. Within 48 hours, the app hit No. 1 overall on the App Store charts; it remains No. 1 in the…

AI SceneWe all know AirDrop stands out as one of the best features across Apple devices, but it keeps you tied to the Apple ecosystem. I recommend MacBooks without hesitation, but I struggle with iPhones at times (my iPhone 15 Pro battery drains fast, and I won’t get into that here). With AirDrop on Samsung devices in the Galaxy S26 series, phone choice starts to feel more open and less locked into one brand.Samsung’s new phones share files with Apple hardware ownersImage Credit: SamsungSamsung Galaxy S26 Ultra512 GBSamsung’s latest phones now let you send photos, videos, and other files to iPhone…

The vivo T5 Pro first surfaced in February in an IMEI database, then in March we got two separate spec leaks, and today the brand is finally acknowledging that this phone exists and is coming soon. vivo’s official X account for India shared the post you can see below, calling the T5 Pro “the ultimate powerhouse”. That tagline is, of course, ridiculous – this isn’t a top of the line device, so it’s definitely not an ultimate anything. We wonder what the vivo X300 Ultra thinks about this marketing direction. ORNL Work Explores AI-Guided Experiments That Adapt in Real Time April 3, 2026 — Yongtao Liu is an R&D staff member at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS). In the Data NanoAnalytics Group, he is helping nanomaterials research move toward experiments that can run with far less handholding. His goal sounds simple but is tough in practice: What changes when an experiment can keep “thinking” after the scientist steps away? He is developing AI-driven “closed-loop” experiments that can plan measurements, read results as they come in and choose the next step, faster than a person…

KitchenAidWhile everyone else is busy adding AI to your kitchen, KitchenAid is perfecting the spin. That’s not just a cute soundbite—it’s how I feel about the new KitchenAid Artisan Plus vs smart mixers. At a time when most kitchen appliances are (desperately) trying to become smarter and more connected, this thing feels like a breath of fresh, flour‑scented air.Ok, so I’ve seen my fair share of smart mixers. And, with their app connectivity and auto‑recipe tracking, they definitely have their place. Like for busy professionals and parents on weeknights who need meals on the table fast. But when I’m trying…

Introduction While Nothing definitely started with a very simple and straightforward lineup, things have sort of ballooned lately, and that’s without even counting the CMF sub-brand offshoot. So, beyond the mainline numbered models and the “a” variants, there are now middle-ground options as well, like the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is actually not that different from the regular Nothing Phone (4a). A slightly better build with better ingress protection, a bigger display with a higher refresh rate, a slightly more powerful chipset and of course, an iteration on the recognizable Nothing design, complete with a…

As data centers have grown and proliferated, so too has the backlash. A new Harvard/MIT poll found 40% of people supported the building of a data center in their area, with 32% opposed when asked about the building of different industrial facilities in their neighborhoods. One fun tidbit from the survey, per Axios: More people would rather have an e-commerce warehouse. Two-thirds of respondents in the 1,000-person poll conducted in November were worried that a new data center in their region would nudge electricity prices higher. Interest in jobs and economic growth helped the case for data centers, according to…
