An interesting report from Korea emerged last week, claiming that BOE is actively trying to enter Samsung’s supply chain as a secondary display supplier for the Galaxy S27 series. A new report from ZDNET Korea shares more details on the matter, including BOE’s offer to Samsung and the possible implications of the deal. Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) division has requested information from BOE regarding OLED panel development for the Galaxy S27 and has been evaluating samples for over a month. According to unnamed industry insiders, BOE is on track to meet the requirements for the Galaxy S27 OLED panels, with…
Last month, Scott Stevenson, co-founder and CEO of the legal AI startup Spellbook, took to X in an effort to expose what he called a “huge scam” among AI startups: inflation of the revenue figures that they announce publicly. “The reason many AI startups are crushing revenue records is because they are using a dishonest metric. The biggest funds in the world are supporting this and misleading journalists for PR coverage,” he wrote in his tweet. Stevenson isn’t the first to claim that annual recurring revenue (ARR) — a metric historically used to sum up annual revenue of active customers…

So bad, it’s good? Google on Friday joined in the disco ball icon fun taking place on home screens everywhere. After Spotify’s temporary new disco ball app icon, released to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, drew extensive online backlash (and a bit of praise for those who like a little kitsch!), Google decided to get in on the joke and rolled out a custom set of Android app icons sporting a similar disco ball theme. On X, Android ecosystem head Sameer Samat posted, “Your wish is our command. Disco icons available on Pixel as of today … Are y’all sure you…

For quite a while now, Oppo’s upcoming Find X10 family has been rumored to include the Find X10 Pro Max. However, a new rumor from the prolific Digital Chat Station on Weibo today says things may not be looking up for this model. Specifically, DCS thinks the Find X10 Pro Max could get delayed or cancelled altogether. The problem, according to him, is that not a lot of people in China would be willing to pay the rumored price of CNY 7,000 ($1,028) for a device powered by a Dimensity chipset (the Find X10 Pro Max would be using the…
Blue Origin’s new mega-rocket, New Glenn, is no longer grounded. The company said Friday that the Federal Aviation Administration has cleared the rocket to fly again after the upper stage failed to deliver a commercial payload during an April launch. Blue Origin didn’t offer much detail but said in a post on X that the New Glenn upper stage “experienced an off-nominal thermal condition” that caused one of the three rocket engines to produce lower-than-expected thrust. As a result, the AST SpaceMobile satellite that Blue Origin was supposed to put into orbit instead burned up in Earth’s atmosphere. (AST SpaceMobile…
