OpenAI has fired an employee over the employee’s activity on prediction markets, including Polymarket, the company confirmed to Wired. The employee used confidential OpenAI information in connection with the trades made, the company alleges. OpenAI didn’t release the name of the employee. However, a spokesperson said that such actions violated a company policy that bans workers from using inside information for personal gain, including on prediction markets. Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi allow people to make wagers on the outcomes of real-world events. For instance, on Polymarket, there are wagers being made around the kind of products OpenAI will…
Xiaomi launched a tracking tag called simply the Xiaomi Tag. We have one in our hands and we can see a few reasons why you may want to pick one up over trackers from other brands. First, it’s how you can get one – an individual tag costs €18, while a pack of four goes for €60. For comparison, a second-gen Apple AirTag is €35 (or €120 for four), a Samsung SmartTag2 is €40 (€130 for four) and a Moto Tag 2 is also €40 (€130 for four). Xiaomi undercutting the competition’s pricing is nothing new, but the difference is…
Anthropic’s chatbot Claude seems to have benefited from the attention around the company’s fraught negotiations with the Pentagon. As first reported by CNBC, as of Saturday afternoon, Claude is currently ranked number two among free apps in Apple’s US App Store — the number one app is OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and number three is Google Gemini. According to data from SensorTower, Claude was just outside the top 100 at the end of January, and has spent most of February somewhere in the top 20. Its ranking has climbed in the last few days, from sixth on Wednesday to fourth on Thursday…

Last week, we asked our readers whether they had any interest in buying a Pixel 10a – the answer is a resounding “no”. The majority of voters think there are better mid-rangers on the market. The best thing that we can say based on these results is that around a third of voters think that the 10a isn’t a bad phone, it’s just overpriced. Which is bad. Jokes aside, there was a similar attitude in the 9a poll a year earlier, but people warmed up to the 9a over time – or rather as the price cuts came in. So,…
The streaming and entertainment industry just witnessed one of its most high-stakes megadeals ever, stunning industry observers. Not only is it historic in its size, but it is also predicted to disrupt Hollywood and the media business as we know it. After years of Warner Bros. Discovery struggling under the weight of billions of dollars in debt, compounded by declining cable viewership and fierce competition from streaming platforms, the company has been considering major strategic changes, including selling its entertainment assets to one of its rivals. Several major players saw the potential in acquiring the media giant and in December,…
Image Credit: NothingThe Phone (4a) is Nothing’s latest push to tempt you away from your Samsung or Apple comfort zone and try something with more character. You might have already seen the pink version, and yeah, that caught my eye too. But that splash of color tells only part of the story. The London crew loves to spill hints before launch. In my Nothing Phone (4a) preview, I break down everything on my radar.DesignNothing builds its name on bold hardware, so I’ll start with the look. The company has shown the rear panel of the Phone (4a), and it sticks…
Xiaomi’s latest Wear OS smartwatch is here, and it means serious business. Meet the Xiaomi Watch 5, a no-compromises smartwatch with a massive battery. Before we go through the numbers, let’s do an unboxing. The Watch 5 ships with Xiaomi’s typical two-pin magnetic charger. We’re not fans of it. First, it ends on a USB-A connection, not a USB-C, which isn’t ideal in early 2026. Second, the two-pin design means you need to fiddle when placing the watch down to charge. It’d be much easier if Xiaomi went with a universal magnetic design, like Samsung and OnePlus. Charger aside, the…
Friday afternoon, just as this interview was getting underway, a news alert flashed across my computer screen: the Trump administration was severing ties with Anthropic, the San Francisco AI company founded in 2021 by Dario Amodei and other former OpenAI researchers who left over safety concerns. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had invoked a national security law — one designed to counter foreign supply chain threats — to blacklist the company from doing business with the Pentagon after Amodei refused to allow Anthropic’s tech to be used for mass surveillance of U.S. citizens or for autonomous armed drones that could select…
DroneDJIndoor drones are not just smaller drones. They are built differently. When GPS disappears, ceilings get low, and walls close in, flight becomes about precision, protection, and intelligence. Some rely on cages. Some rely on AI. Some rely on raw camera power.
