The Smart Zambia Institute has employed a number of top-performing graduates from the University of Zambia (UNZA) as part of its efforts to develop local talent and strengthen the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The initiative aims to build a highly skilled workforce capable of developing innovative, home-grown digital solutions tailored to Zambia’s needs. The Institute said investing in local graduates is central to its vision of fostering sustainable digital transformation through home-grown expertise.
To further enhance their capabilities, the graduates are undergoing advanced training in partnership with the Institute of Health Management (IHM). The programme is designed to strengthen their technical knowledge, develop practical skills and provide exposure to emerging technologies, equipping them to design and implement sustainable digital solutions.
According to the Smart Zambia Institute, the initiative not only creates employment opportunities for young professionals but also empowers the next generation of innovators to address local challenges using locally developed technologies and expertise.
The Institute said the programme reinforces its commitment to continuous learning, skills development and knowledge transfer. Through strategic partnerships and mentorship, it aims to cultivate a new generation of technology professionals who will contribute to improving public service delivery, accelerating innovation and strengthening Zambia’s digital economy.
