Oppo has finally kicked off the Android 16-based official ColorOS 16 update globally, after months of beta testing. The Oppo Find X8 series is the first to receive the stable ColorOS 16 update. The official update is now available for the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro.
The Android 16-based stable ColorOS 16 update for the Find X8 is rolling out in India, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The update for the Find X8 Pro is currently rolling out in India. The update will soon expand to other regions.
As per the screenshot shared by users, the ColorOS 16 update for the Find X8 Pro is available with the build number CPH2659_16.0.0.204(EX01). The update size is around 4GB, so make sure to download it over WiFi.
While the official announcement doesn’t include the changelog that comes with the update, it’s the same as what was shipped with the open beta. This includes seamless animation, full-screen AOD, resize folder and app icons on home screen, AI portrait glow in photo editing, upgraded O+ connect, and more.
If you own an Oppo Find X8 or Find X8 Pro and reside in the mentioned regions, you can update your device by going to Settings > System & update > Software update > tap the top of the page > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Release Candidate > Apply Now. After this, the update will be available, which you can download and install.
While this is an official update, it’s first available to interested users via the release candidate. If the update is good without major issues, it will be rolled out to everyone via an OTA update.
Before installing the update, make sure to charge your device to at least 50% and take a backup of your device.
