Nothing’s quest to remain one of the more unique smartphone brands on the market has certainly led to some rather interesting hardware and software concepts. More recently, the company wants to allow users to change their smartphone experience with its new Essential Apps Builder, which lets users create their own apps.
Now in its its Beta phase, the Essential Apps Builder allows users to easily make personalized apps simply by describing what they need in plain language. Once built, these apps will instantly appear on the home screen, functioning as purposeful, context-aware tools that are able to adapt based on user feedback.
Nothing says that the Beta is currently rolling out in batches, with initial availability for Phone (3) users, to be followed by a wider release to other Nothing and CMF devices running Nothing OS 4.0 later this year. The builder now features improved version control, allowing users to update specific parts of an app without resetting it, or restore earlier versions more easily.
The Apps Builder will support location, calendar, and contact permissions, along with tools like location-based reminders or custom meeting countdowns; meanwhile, support for camera access, microphone usage, and sensor data will arrive in future updates.
