In late 2025, WhatsApp’s beta version of the app hinted at an upcoming design overhaul, in line with the so-called Liquid Glass design language that Apple started using with its most recent iOS. Users started reporting small UI elements being redesigned along with the main chat screen.
A new report from WABetaInfo, however, suggests that WhatsApp is almost ready to release a redesigned in-chat interface. Interestingly, the changes aren’t available even to beta users, but WABetaInfo managed to activate the new interface that now includes a floating chat bar and a translucent navigation bar.
Don’t hold your breath just yet, though, as Meta seems to be taking a very relaxed approach to the new design release. Many users still haven’t received the redesigned UI elements, so by the looks of it, it will take even longer to see the full overhaul. Also, we will likely see it pushed to the average user once the redesign is fully complete.
